Chairman, Arafeh Group Syria & Safwan Arafeh Group Dubai

Mr. Safwan Arafeh is an industrialist, investor and entrepreneur. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arafeh Group Syria, a family business, and Chairman of Safwan Arafeh Group Dubai.

His professional and investment career began in the late 1980s, when he expanded the group’s activities by establishing “Arafeh Drug Stores” in Syria. This marked the beginning of the group’s global expansion.

Today, the group’s business is divided into two main units. The Medical & Pharmaceutical Unit covers branded generic medicine, specialty dietary supplements, and manufacturing supplies and technologies. The Engineering Unit covers production lines, smart parking systems (I PARK – TECH), and master development of real estate and tourism projects. The group has head offices in Dubai, Damascus, North Macedonia, Germany, Estonia, Cyprus, Hong Kong and China.

In 2017, he was nominated among the top 5 global pharmaceutical CEOs at the CPHI Worldwide conference in Germany. He has received numerous global awards in management and technology and holds several patents, trademarks and brands.

He has been a member of the Syrian Canadian Business Association (SYCAB) since its early beginnings. He is a founder, member and chairman of several business councils, the Union of Investors in Free Zones, and the Drugstores Union, and a member of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Syria, Dubai, North Macedonia and Hong Kong. He has also taken part in numerous international trade delegations and business missions from Dubai and Damascus.
